Grad Student BioEd Research Award

The COESP Graduate Student BioEd Research Award recognizes excellence in biology education research (ie. SoTL, DBER) performed by graduate students in the College of Biological Science at the University of Guelph.

The recipient of the COESP Graduate Student BioEd Research Award will present their biology education research in an award seminar that is of interest to a wide audience including fellow faculty, staff, and students. The topic of the seminar must align with the mission, vision, and values of the COESP. The recipient will be presented with an award certificate and an honorarium of $500.

Application forms must include:

  1. Seminar Title
  2. Research description (max 200 words) – provide an overview of the seminar; will be used for advertisement
  3. Research Abstract (max 800 words)

Abstracts will be evaluated using this rubric (adapted from SABER)

Applications are due February 23, 2024, submitted through the COESP Awards application form

Eligible students include graduate students within CBS that are either currently enrolled, or that defended since the last application due date

An adjudication committee of faculty and staff on the COESP steering committee will review all applications using the evaluation criteria outlined in this rubric. Questions should be directed to cbscoesp@uoguelph.ca
